The hostel can be found in the lighthouse keepers’ houses with associated sheds. The Swedish Property Agency and the municipality of Valdemarsvik have run an EU project to renovate and make the lighthouse property accessible to the public. The island is a unique environment far from highways and the stress of the big city.
There are three apartments in the lighthouse keeper’s house (Fyrmästaren, Fyrvaktaren and Fyrbiträdet), in addition there is now accommodation in the woodshed and baker’s cottage.
Sheets, towels and final cleaning are provided by the tenant himself.
Toilet visits take place on the outdoor toilet and washing in the sea.

lOTSSTUGORNA
The pilot site was active from the end of the 17th century until 1968. Houses and environments have been preserved as it looked in 1968.
Here you have a short-term accommodation for rent in the former pilot lookout “Vaktstugan” and in the former signal reconnaissance station “Radiostationen”.

The Skärgårdskompaniet company traffic the island on Thursdays between Fyrudden and Häradskär. At 16.30 the boat departs from Fyrudden.
It is also possible to order a taxi boat.

PARKING AT FYRUDDEN
Parking is available at Fyrudden. Free parking is available about 1000 m from the port. Parking is usually also available down on the quay and those are payed for in the machine at the port office.

If you want to swim when you are here, there are nice rocks around the whole island.
The garbage is put in bags and thrown in one of the two small garbage houses, one is at Lotshamnen and one at Fyrhamnen. In the garbage houses there is also some waste sorting: metal, glass, deposit and other/ mixed.
